Originally slated for midseason and then tentatively set for November, ABC's remake of the sci-fi classic "V" now has a formal premiere date.

It was announced at Saturday (Aug. 8) afternoon's ABC Television Critics Association press tour panel that "V" will begin its run on Tuesday, Nov. 3, airing in the 8 p.m. time slot.

If you don't remember the vintage '80s miniseries and subsequent series, "V" focuses on humanity's reaction to an extended alien visitation, which becomes complicated when they discover that they extra-terrestrial visitors have ulterior motives.

The remake's ensemble cast includes Scott Wolf, Elizabeth Mitchell, Joel Gretsch, Morris Chestnut, Morena Baccarin and Lourdes Benedicto.

Producers insisted to assembled reporters that they know where they're going for the first and second seasons, if that's somehow reassuring to you. They also said they know where the end is.

dan John - You're responding to a story from last summer regarding the show's first season premiere. There's actually no word on when "V" will be coming back next season, only midseason. And the show can't really lose that many more viewers, since there aren't that many at this point anyway... -Daniel
