Viewers will have to wait a couple months to hit the runway with Sacha Baron Cohen's "Bruno."

According to Variety, Universal has pushed the character-driven comedy to July 10, rather than its original May 15 launch date.

"Bruno" is moving into the slot vacated last week when Sony announced that Roland Emmerich's latest apocalyptic thriller "2012" would be moving to Nov. 13.

In its former home, "Bruno" would have opened the same week as "Angels & Demons," one week after "Star Trek" and one week before "Night at the Museum II: Escape from the Smithsonian" and "Terminator Salvation."

In its new slot, "Bruno" will only go head-to-head with the Hayden Panettiere comedy "I Love You Beth Cooper."

Like the smash hit "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan," "Bruno" is based on a character created by Cohen for the series "Da Ali G Show." The Bruno character is a gay fashion reporter from Austrian TV who, as with Borat, has comic interactions with unsuspecting civilians.
