"Twilight" star Robert Pattinson is reportedly interested in working with Summit on "Memoirs."

The story in The Hollywood Reporter gives every indication that development on "Memoirs" is only in the earliest stage. The trade paper says that Pattinson is in early talks for "Memoirs" and that Allen Coulter ("Hollywoodland") "is considering directing."

In the meantime, "Rachel Getting Married" scribe Jenny Lumet has been brought in to write Will Fetters' original script, which focuses on on two lovers who have to deal with family tragedies, while also feeling out the dynamics of their new relationship.

Pattinson and the rest of the "Twilight" gang have recently returned to work on "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," which will open on Nov. 20, 2009.

After a brief pause to recharge, production will then begin on the franchise's third installment, "Eclipse," which has staked out a June 30, 2010 release date.

Perhaps Pattinson would have time to shoot "Memoirs" between his two "Twilight" sequels in the same hiatus co-star Kristen Stewart is planning to shoot "Runaways."

The "Twilight" DVD, which was released last Saturday, sold more than 3 million copies in its first day in release. The film has grossed nearly $380 million worldwide since its November 2008 release.
