Fast National ratings for Friday, November 13, 2009.
The numbers may not be sexy, but CBS Friday night procedurals claimed another easy sweeps victory. CBS had tight wins in all three primetime hours overall and the network also won two of the three primetime hours in the 18-49 demo.
Among adults 18-49, CBS averaged a 1.9 rating, beating the 1.5 rating for ABC and NBC in the all-important demographic. FOX was fourth with a 1.1 rating, nipping the 0.9 rating for The CW.
Overall, CBS averaged an estimated 8.11 million viewers to go with a 5.1 rating/9 share. NBC was second with a 4.3/8 and 6.51 million viewers. ABC's 3.6/6 was third, beating the 2.5/4 for FOX. The CW trailed with a 1.3/2.
CBS started the night in first with "The Ghost Whisperer," which had a 5.1/9 and a 2.0 rating (the night's best) in the 18-49 demo. NBC's "Law & Order" was a close second with a 4.9/9. ABC's "Supernanny" had a 3.3/6. FOX's "House" repeat was fourth overall. The CW's "Smallville" had a 1.6/3 for fourth overall (down from last week in total viewers by a tiny bit), but finished fourth in the 18-49 demo with a 1.2 rating, beating FOX. [Note that the overall audience for "Smallville" was down from last week's Fast National totals -- i.e. the numbers we report here each morning -- but up from last week's Final total.]
"Medium" had a 5.2/9 for CBS in the 9 p.m. hour and won the hour with a 1.9 rating in the key demo. NBC's "Dateline" was second with a 4.8/8. ABC's "Ugly Betty" slipped to a 3.0/5 overall for third. FOX's "Bones" repeat was fourth with a 2.6/5. The CW trailed with a repeat of "America's Next Top Model."
Overall, CBS was first at 10 p.m. with a 5.2/9 for "Numb3rs." ABC's "20/20" was second overall with a 4.6/8, but won the hour in the demo with a 1.9 rating. NBC's "The Jay Leno Show" was third.
All ratings information comes from preliminary Fast National Nielsen data, which includes live and same-day DVR viewing. All numbers are subject to change.
