Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008.

A new episode of "House" on FOX helped deliver the 18-49 ratings, but CBS' crime procedural repeats still drew a bigger overall audience.

FOX averaged a 4.1 rating in the key 18-49 demographic, winning the night, with NBC's 3.6 rating close behind. CBS had a 2.4 rating, beating the 1.7 rating for ABC and The CW's 0.5 rating.

Overall, though, CBS averaged nearly 12.1 million viewers and a 7.9 rating/13 share to win the night. FOX was still second with a 6.4/10, with NBC's 6.0/10 close behind. ABC's 3.6/6 and The CW's 0.8/1 trailed.

Even in repeats, CBS' "NCIS" still did an 8.9/14, beating a new "House" on FOX with an 8.4/14, though "House" was the night's highest-rated program in the 18-49 demo. The first hour of NBC's "Biggest Loser: Family Edition" took third with a 5.0/8, beating ABC's "America's Funniest Home Videos" and the 0.9/1 for a "90210" repeat on The CW.

CBS stayed in first at 9 p.m. with a 9.0/14 for "The Mentalist." NBC moved up to second with a 6.0/9 for "Biggest Loser." FOX's "Fringe" beat the 3.3/5 for two episodes of "According to Jim" on ABC. And a repeat of "Privileged" on The CW trailed.

NBC moved into first in the 10 p.m. hour with a 7.2/12 for "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." CBS' "Without a Trace" was second with a 5.8/10, beating the 3.2/5 for "Eli Stone."
