Fast National ratings for Wednesday, April 1, 2009.
Expect to see more hidden camera hijinks after the strong performance by CBS' "I Get That A Lot," but the April Fool's Day special wasn't enough to keep FOX down on Wednesday.
FOX averaged a 5.4 rating among adults 18-49, doubling up the 2.7 rating for second place ABC, which nipped the 2.6 rating for third place CBS. NBC was fourth in the key demographic with a 1.5 rating, holding off the 1.1 rating for The CW.
Overall, FOX averaged an estimated 16.34 million viewers in primetime to go with a 9.8 rating/16 share. CBS was second with a 6.4/10, well ahead of the 4.2/7 for ABC and NBC's 3.8/6. The CW was fifth with a 1.0/3.
CBS won the 8 p.m. hour with "I Get That A Lot," which had a 6.3/11 and also won the 18-49 demo. FOX was second with a 5.6/9 for "Lie to Me." NBC's "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" repeat took third, barely topping the 3.3/5 averaged by "Scrubs" and "Better Off Ted" on ABC. The CW's "America's Next Top Model" had a 2.8/5 in fifth (beating NBC in the 18-49 demo).
FOX moved into first at 9 p.m. with a 13.9/21 for the week's "American Idol" results show. CBS took second with a repeat of "Criminal Minds." ABC's "Lost" had a 5.5/8 for third, while NBC's "Life" had a 3.7/6 for fourth. The CW's "90210" encore was fifth.
CBS won the 10 p.m. hour with a 6.5/11 "CSI: NY" repeat. NBC's "Law & Order" repeat was second, while the series finale of "Life on Mars" got a small boost and did a 3.8/6.
