TV Ratings: 'Dance' matches 'Talent,' carries FOX Wednesday
FOX controls the demo, while CBS repeats make the overall race a tight one

The second extended "So You Think You Can Dance" audition show dominated the 18-49 demographic for the night and also helped FOX average the night's most viewers.
Meanwhile, ABC's "Happy Town" returned to primetime and nobody cared.
Among adults 18-49, FOX averaged a 2.8 rating, far ahead of the 1.9 rating for NBC in the key demographic. CBS' 1.6 rating and the 1.2 rating for ABC followed closely. The CW's 0.5 rating was fifth for the night.
Overall, CBS averaged a 4.7 rating/8 share, nipping the 4.5/8 for FOX, but FOX averaged an estimated 7.32 million viewers, compared to the 7.08 million viewers for CBS. NBC was a tight third with a 4.2/7, with ABC's 2.7/5 a distant fourth. The CW's 0,8/1 trailed.
FOX started the night in first with a 4.6/8 and a 2.8 demo rating for "So You Think You Can Dance." ABC's two repeats of "The Middle" finished second with a 3.3/6, beating CBS' repeats of "How I Met Your Mother" and "Rules of Engagement." NBC's encore of Tuesday's "Losing It with Jillian" premiere had a 2.3/4 for fourth, beating the 0.9/2 for "America's Next Top Model" on The CW.
NBC's "America's Got Talent" had a 6.0/10 to win the 9 p.m. hour. CBS' "Criminal Minds" repeat was second with a 5.3/9. FOX's "So You Think You Can Dance" slipped to a 4.3/7 against tougher competition, but still tied NBC for the hourly win in the demo with a 2.8 rating. ABC's "Modern Family" and "Cougar Town" repeats were fourth with a 2.9/5. The CW's "America's Next Top Model" and "Fly Girls" repeats finished fifth.
CBS' "CSI: NY" repeat won the 10 p.m. hour overall with a 5.8/10. NBC's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" repeat was second overall and narrowly won the demo. ABC's already cancelled "Happy Town" returned to a 2.0/3 and a 0.8 demo rating, averaging 2.76 million viewers.
