TV Ratings: 'Criminal Minds,' 'CSI: NY' repeats carry CBS Wednesday

With the Holidays getting closer, it was another slow night for broadcast TV on Wednesday, with CBS' repeats of "Criminal Minds" and "CSI: NY" dominating their hours.
Among adults 18-49, CBS averaged a 1.7 rating to nip the 1.6 rating for ABC in the key demographic. FOX's 1.3 rating and the 0.9 rating for NBC followed, leaving The CW in last with a 0.3 rating.
Overall, CBS averaged an estimated 8.95 million viewers to go with a 5.7 rating/10 share, comfortably ahead of the 3.0/5 for ABC. NBC and FOX both posted a 2.3/4 (advantage FOX in total viewers) to tie for third.
The CW was fifth with a 0.5/1.
CBS began the night in first overall with a 4.2/8 for the 11th installment of "A Home for the Holidays." ABC's latest repeat of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" plus a repeat of "The Middle" were second overall with a 3.4/6 and won the hour in the 18-49 demo with a 1.9 rating. NBC's repeat of "Mercy" edged out the 2.2/4 for FOX's "Glee" repeat. On The CW, a "One Tree Hill" repeat was fifth with a 0.6/1.
"Criminal Minds" gave CBS a big lead at 9 p.m. with a 6.5/11 and a 2.0 rating in the key demo. ABC's "Modern Family" and "The Middle" repeats were second with a 3.0/5. FOX's "Glee" repeat had a 2.4/4, beating the 1.7/3 for a second repeat of "Mercy" on NBC.
CBS closed in first with a 6.5/12 for "CSI: NY," which also carried the hour in the key demo with a 2.1 rating. NBC's "The Jay Leno Show" had a 2.9/5 for second overall, though ABC's two episodes of "Cougar Town" finished second in the key demo.
