Fast National ratings for Friday, November 27, 2009.
Nobody watched TV on the day after Thanksgiving.
We could leave our ratings story at that, but interested readers probably crave more details on a primetime Friday evening in which no network averaged more than 5.31 million viewers or delivered more than a dismal 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demo.
It was FOX that claimed the key demo with the 1.4 rating among adults 18-49. CBS' 1.2 rating was a close second, with ABC and NBC doing a 1.1 rating to tie for third. The CW was fifth with a 0.5 rating.
Overall, CBS averaged the 5.31 million viewers to go with a 3.5 rating/6 share. ABC was second with a 2.
9/5, beating FOX's 2.6/5, though FOX finished second for the night in total viewers. NBC's 2.4/4 was fourth, with The CW's 0.8/1 trailing.
CBS started the night in first with a 3.8/7 for a repeat of "Ghost Whisperer." NBC's broadcast of "The 40 Year-Old Virgin" was second with a 2.5/5. FOX's broadcast of "Ice Age 2: The Meltdown" was third, beating ABC's "Supernanny," which did a 2.3/4. The CW's "Smallville" repeat had a 1.0/2 for fifth.
A "Medium" repeat kept CBS in first at 9 p.m. with a 3.4/6. FOX's "Ice Age 2: The Meltdown" had a 2.8/5 overall and won the hour in the 18-49 demo with a 1.5 rating. NBC's movie was third for the hour with a 2.5/5, edging the 2.3/4 for ABC's "Ugly Betty." And yes, that was actually a new episode of "Ugly Betty" averaging under 3.39 million viewers and a 0.9 demo rating. The CW's "America's Next Top Model" repeat trailed.
ABC finished the night with "20/20" delivering Friday's best ratings with a 4.1/8 overall and a 1.6 demo rating. CBS' "Numb3rs" was second with a 3.3/6. A rare repeat of "The Jay Leno Show" was third for NBC.
