TV Ratings: 'Bachelorette' building for ABC on Mondays
ABC wins Monday in the 18-49 demo, but CBS wins overall with repeats like 'CSI: Miami'
Jillian Harris of 'The Bachelorette'
Fast National ratings for Monday, July 6, 2009.
As it approaches its finale, ratings for ABC's "The Bachelorette" keep going up. Of course, they still aren't high enough to make up for the weakness of "Here Comes the Newlyweds."
Among adults 18-49, ABC narrowly won Monday night with a 2.3 rating. CBS was a close second in the key demographic with a 2.2 rating. NBC's 1.3 rating and FOX's 1.1 rating followed. The CW was a distant fifth with a 0.3 rating.
Overall, though, CBS averaged an estimated 7.64 million viewers to go with a 4.9 rating/9 share. ABC was a solid second with a 4.5/8. NBC took third with a 3.4/6, beating the 2.4/4 for FOX. The CW's 0.6/1 trailed.
ABC began the night in first with a 5.0/9 for "The Bachelorette." CBS' "How I Met Your Mother" and "Rules of Engagement" averaged a 3.5/6 for second, nipping the total for NBC's "Law & Order." FOX's "House" was fourth with a 2.6/5, topping the 0.6/1 for The CW's "One Tree Hill."
At 9 p.m., CBS' "Two and a Half Men" and "The Big Bang Theory" had a 5.6/9, barely edging the 5.5/9 for ABC's "Bachelorette." ABC and CBS tied for the hour in the 18-49 demo. NBC was third overall with a 3.4/6 for "Law & Order: Criminal Intent." FOX's "Lie to Me" had a 2.3/4 and topped The CW's Gossip Girl."
"CSI: Miami" closed the night in first for CBS with a 5.7/10, well ahead of "Dateline NBC." ABC's "Here Comes the Newlyweds" had a 3.0/5 for fifth.
All ratings information comes from preliminary Fast National Nielsen data, which includes live and same-day DVR viewing. All numbers are subject to change.
