Three co-stars join CBS' 'NCIS' spinoff
Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J may be getting some company in CBS' "NCIS" spinoff.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Louise Lombard, Peter Cambor and Daniela Ruah have snagged lead roles in the untitled backdoor pilot, which will air as an episode of "NCIS" later this spring.
The trade previously attached O'Donnell and LL Cool J to the project, but both actors are reported still in negotiations.
Cambor (ABC's "Notes From the Underbelly") will play Nate, described as "the team's conscience and beating heart." The character is an operational psychologist.
Lombard, coming off a three-year run as Sofia Curtis on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," will play Clara, the ensemble's female lead, a sharp investigator with a military police background.
Ruah will play the team's youngest member, an investigator who studied forensics and criminology in college.
CBS has yet to announce a date for the "NCIS" spinoff episode, which hopes to follow in its parent series' footsteps. "NCIS," of course, spun off from a spring episode of "JAG."
