But could it be that one of rock's biggest frontmen, Thom Yorke, is "interested" in contributing a new track to the vampire flick?
It may be so, according to director Chris Weitz, in an exclusive interview with HitFix.
When asked if he's had to turn down any major acts volunteering their services to the soundgrack, Weitz says, "Well, fortunately I'm not at the stage where I have to turn anybody down yet, because everything is still kind of up in the air, but I am surprised by some of the bands that have said they are interested. It's kind of great. The criteria will still be what's right for the movie at that given moment, but y'know, Thom Yorke is interested. We might, if we're very lucky, get Kings of Leon to do something. So, it's exciting to have access to this kind of talent."
In some way, its sounds like that sort of contribution would be beneath Yorke. And in other ways it sounds totally punk rock; if we were Thom Yorke we'd open our own self-themed theme park and make an DVD/CD collection of small children happily saying our name over and over again. So what the hell do we know.
