'The Twilight Saga: New Moon' announces more Comic-Con fan events
Stunningly, special screening will cost fans $10
Robert Pattinson meets the fans for the first time at Comic-Con 2008.
Summit Entertainment woke up the mainstream media with the rock star reaction to the "Twilight" panel during 2008's San Diego Comic-Con. The studio has already announced fan favorites Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will be back with other cast members of the sequel, "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," for a Thursday panel in Hall H at 1:45 PM. Now, Summit is confirming earlier rumors of special screenings of the megahit during the convention.
Dubbed "The Twilight Experience," fans will have an opportunity to see the original film introduced by cast members of the film with staggered showings Thursday evening, July 23. Doors will open at 5:30 PM and fans with tickets will be admitted on a first-come, first-seated basis. The event will take place at The Pacific Gaslamp 15 theaters located at 701 5th Ave., just a few blocks north of the San Diego Convention Center. Strangely for a film already out on DVD, the event is not free. Tickets are on sale for $10 on Fandango.com and there is a two ticket per person limit. There are also rumors that special footage from "New Moon" will be shown prior or following the original film, but that has not been officially confirmed at this time.
Additionally, Summit will have a booth on the floor of the convention this year and fans will be able to have their pictures taken in an exclusive "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" photo booth. Special edition trading cards from the film will also be distributed.
The Summit Entertainment boot will also have lifesize versions of the studio's new CG-animated film "Astro Boy" on hand and other giveaways and prizes.
Comic-Con begins Thursday, July 22 at San Diego's Convention Center. Make HitFix your home for all the latest Comic-Con news and reports
