The CW wants Ashton Kutcher's 'Beautiful Life'
Model drama pilot will be produced by 'Swingtown' and 'Jericho' veterans
Ashton Kutcher
The CW has ordered a drama pilot called "The Beautiful Life" from executive producer Ashton Kutcher.
The pilot was written by former model Adam Giaudrone and focuses on young models trying to make it in New York City, which would make it a logical companion piece for either "Gossip Girl" or "America's Next Top Model" on The CW.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mike Kelley ("Swington") and Carol Barbee oversaw the writing of the script and will executive produce along with Kutcher, another former model.
The trade paper says that key characters in the models co-ed residence (just like on Bravo's "Make Me a Supermodel"!) include a potential catalogue model (ouch) named Christopher and 15-year-old Raina, a modeling superstar-in-waiting.
The pilot will be produced through CBS Paramount TV and Kutcher's Katalyst shingle, which also brought The CW several seasons of "Beauty and the Geek."
