The CW has announced its fall premiere dates for the 2009-10 season, with the big shakeup coming on Monday nights, where "One Tree Hill" and "Gossip Girl" are switching timeslots.

Want to know what we love about The CW? When the netlet announces its premiere dates, they can be reported in a couple short paragraphs. Life is easy when you only have two programming hours, five nights per week.

The CW will get a slight head-start on its fall premieres, with the return of "90210" and the start of the new "Melrose Place" coming on Tuesday, September 8. "America's Next Top Model" will begin its latest cycle the following night with a two-hour episode. Then, on Thursday, September 10, the fangtastic new soap "The Vampire Diaries" will lead into the return of "Supernatural."

The following week, "One Tree Hill" will take its first stab at leading into "Gossip Girl" on Monday nights. The two female-screwing dramas attracted nearly identical ratings last year and it's hard to imagine reversing their time slots is going to have much impact. Maybe this means that "Gossip Girl" is planning on going dark-n-dirty next season? Probably not.

In any case, the redundantly titled new drama "The Beautiful Life: TBL" will premiere on Wednesday, September 16, while "Smallville" will begin its tour as a Friday outcast on September 25.

The CW still has "Life UneXpected" (formerly "Parental Discretion Advised") for midseason.
