'Strange Days' indeed for Bob Saget, A&E

A&E has ordered seven episodes of "Bob Saget's Strange Days" for a 2010 premiere.
In "Strange Days," Saget travels the country immersing himself in unusual or out-of-the-way corners of America. According to the A&E press release, episodes find Saget living with a survivalist cult, riding a Harley with a biker gang and partying with a group of Amish teens on rumspringa.
Wait. Bob Saget, investigative journalist? Apparently. Like we (and John Lennon) said... Strange days, indeed.
"Bob Saget has been a part of the television landscape for years, but now we’ll be seeing him in a completely different light as he travels the country to explore ways of living that most of us know nothing about," states Robert Sharenow, Senior Vice President, Nonfiction and Alternative Programming, A&E.
"The show will reveal hidden corners of the real America and the real Bob Saget, who is even funnier and more relatable when just being himself than any other role he’s ever played."
Still presumably best known for his work as Danny Tanner on "Full House" and as the host of "America's Funniest Home Videos," Saget has been on a multi-year course of career reinvention, dating back to his cameo in "Half Baked." He's played himself on multiple episodes of "Entourage," delivered the funniest joke in "The Aristocrats," starred in the filthy comedy special "Bob Saget: That Ain't Right" and written and directed "Farce of the Penguins." Of course, he also starred in "Surviving Suburbia" on ABC, but we can't necessarily hold that against him.
Saget will serve as executive producer on "Strange Days," which is being produced for A&E by Tijuana Entertainment ("Obsessed," "The Two Coreys") and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
"Strange Days" fits into A&E's "Real Life. Drama" brand, which also encompasses shows like "Criss Angel Mindfreak," "Dog The Bounty Hunter," "Intervention," "Hoarders" and the upcoming "Steven Seagal Lawman," which premieres on Dec. 2.
