Spoon will release a new single "Got Nuffin" this coming Tuesday (June 30), on CD and digitally. It comes out on vinyl some time in July.

This is old-school, too, with the "single" actually meaning "a song and a couple B-sides." The other tracks include "Tweakers" and "Stroke Their Brains"; altogether, it's the rock act's first set of new material since 2007's "Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga."

"Got Nuffin" is a change-up from the band's regular recording situation, with drummer Jim Eno at his home studio in Austin; instead, the band worked with Nicolas Vernhes (Animal Collective, Black Dice, Les Savy Fav) at Rare Book Room studio in Brooklyn.

This release comes right in time, in advance of Spoon's sold-out Spoonx3 hometown concert series in Austin, July 9-11. The group will be playing new tracks and have hand-selected acts like Quasi and Low to share the stage.

The band is also scheduled to play Summerfest in Milwaukee on Monday and on July 26 at the Wanderlust Festival in Squaw Valley, Calif.
