Walt Disney Studios has debuted a new and very impressive new trailer for Tim Burton's adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland."  The new preview features even more footage of Helena Bonham Carter as the Queen of Hearts, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, Michael Sheen as The White Rabbit, audiences first audio of Stephen Fry as the voice of the Cheshire Cat and, of course, Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter.

Oh, and newcomer Mia Wasikowska as Alice. (If anyone cares...)

Enjoy the preview below which will no doubt be in front of many prints of "Avatar" and "Sherlock Holmes" over the holidays.

You can watch the trailer embedded in this page or click here for a much larger version.

"Alice in Wonderland" opens in Disney Digital 3-D, IMAX 3-D and regular theaters on March 5.

if you like this version, it looks to me to be close to Frank Beddor's books. He re-wrote Alice in Wonderland as a totally new world. Where her name is actually Alyss and the cards are soldiers and the hatter is very good with weapons. the third book in the triology just came out...really awesome read, if you're interested

If people don't care about the character of Alice, well this movie is going to be a slog for you. Despite the misleading promos, the Mad Hatter and the White and Red Queens are only supporting characters. Fans really should be savvy enough by now to know that promo departments like to emphasize their most well-known actors. This is not the first time a preview has completely misrepresented what a movie's about.
