Quentin Tarantino confirms 'Kill Bill, Vol. 3,' but who's left to kill?

Third installment would take place 10 years after 'Kill Bill, Vol. 2'

Quentin Tarantino confirms 'Kill Bill, Vol. 3,' but who's left to kill?

During promotion for the first two "Kill Bill" films, creator Quentin Tarantino hypothisized that he'd like to return for a third installment that would take place 10 years afterward the second film ended.  Six years since Vol. 1 and a little over five years since Vol. 2, Tarantino has made waves by letting everyone know he hasn't abandoned his original plan.

Speaking during a press conference for "Inglourious Basterds" in Mexico on Saturday, Tarantino says he still plays to shoot "Kill Bill 3" in or around 2014.  According to Variety, the filmmaker said he'd also film a different picture inbetween.  He's currently contemplating a "re-imagining" of a number of genres including a Western or a '30s type gangster movie.

" Kill Bill, Vol. 2" ended with The Bride (Uma Thurman) reunited with her baby and all of her targets killed or close to it.  Most speculate that "Copperhead's" daughter, who is spared in "Vol. 1," would be the most likely protagonist now that she's all grown up and no doubt has revenge of her own on her mind. Curiously, the "Bill" portion of the film would be difficult to incorporate even in flashbacks after the untimely death of David Carradine this past summer.

More questions surround who exactly would produce the new feature.  It's unclear whether this is a project the Weinstein's were allowed to keep the rights too when they left Miramax in 2005 or whether it would kick back to the recently gutted, but still kicking indie specialty label.  Needless to say, parent company Disney would hardly be adverse to making a sequel to a series that has already grossed $332 million worldwide.  Plus, the mammoth success of "Basterds" this summer ensures (at least for the time being) that Tarantino's reign in pop culture is hardly over.

Thurman will be seen in theaters later this month in the romantic comedy "Motherhood."

Andrew Elle Driver might not be dead. Suppose she comes back as some kind of Zatoichi type character. The end credits did have a question mark over her name. I'd really like to see Sonny Chiba come back for Vol. 3. Who knows. It's up to Tarantino.

kill bill fan I would also love to see Elle in Kill Bill 3, maybe she'll be one of the people Copperhead's daughter looks for in order to gain information on the Bride. 5 years is definitely worth the wait if the sequel is anywhere near as good as the originals. Just hope the film gets made.

Julian It seems as though Copperheads daughter will be avenging her mothers death. But there is also Bee Bee, who I imagine will grow up well versed in all things martial arts. I cant really see (no pun intended) Elle Driver as a blind assassin but thats to say it may never happen. I cant really see any flashback senarios with Bill, which is why I cant see it being called Kill Bill 3. Whatever it turns into Im sure I will watch it...

Chris Waiting 10 years means he's probably considering having The Bride's daughter be a focal point of the third. Elle Driver, may not be dead, but I doubt she'll be the driving antagonistic force. I'm thinking that Tarantino has more up his sleeve and that it'll have to do with the four years that the bride spent in a coma. I don't think that Copperhead's daughter will be in it. In fact I'm almost certain. Copperhead was not much of an assassin (compared to The Bride) and I'd think that after she was killed, her daughter and husband would move far away and start life anew. Elle is probably going to be the link from Part 2 to 3. I wouldn't be surprised if he killed off The Bride either. Not that I'd want to see that happen, but it's always a possibility. Who knows, there's five years to speculate and for Tarantino to pull together a script and he probably has a pretty clear idea of what Volume 3 will be about.

Brad Snell I remember reading about Quentin's plan to do a third installment of Kill Bill or at least another movie about "The Bride" 10 years after the first two were released. I'm hoping that it gets made. I'm a huge fan of the Kill Bill volumes and a third would be the best part three movie ever made. 5 more years of waiting for a two hour movie. Quentin won't and can't screw this up.

Vivian If Vernita Green's daughter comes back as the main protagonist/rival against Beatrix in Volume 3, then she would only be 14 years old (she was only 4 when Beatrix killed her mother). I highly doubt a young adolescent of that age could really pose a big threat to experienced warriors like Beatrix. (I assume Nikki would be only 14 because Quentin even said he wanted his characters - in real time and in the film - to age 10 years before Volume 3, which would make Nikki and BB only 14 years old.)

I don't get it - why doesn't Quentin just get an older actress to play Nikki Green now, and just say or imply in the movie that more than 10 years has passed since Volume 2? Maybe he wants Uma and Daryl to age a bit in real time to make the increased age of their characters more believable in the next installment...

Syd Weyl I can not wait for a third one... I love this movie!!! Last night I watched it again siting on the couch eating a donnut. For a Third Movie to come out, it would be epic, if it is in RealD 3D it will be cool to, but just the wonderful story line and Japanese culture is great. Tarantino has realy Inspired me, considering after doing a Report on Stacy Ann Fergison,Tarantino producing "Grind House" aned "Poseidon" well I just cannot wait and Keep the good work Quentin!

JUSTSMOKEGREEN I think it would be dope if Copperheads daughter comes back for revenge and Elle Driver, the Blind Assassin takes her under the wing and trains her to be a cold blooded Killer. So she can avenge her mothers death. The movie should be call KILL KIDDO
