It's being reported that the latest "Project Runway" spin-off, entitled "Project Accessory", has tapped model/actress Molly Sims as host, with A-list fashion designer Kenneth Cole and InStyle editor Ariel Foxman to serve as judges. Eva Lorenzotti, the CEO of fashion website Vivre, will mentor the show's contestants.
The lineup was announced by Lifetime today, according to The Hollywood Reporter, with the network having ordered eight one-hour episodes to debut in November along with "Project Runway All-Stars". The premieres of the two new series will coincide with the final few episodes of the current "Project Runway" season, set to wrap up right around the time their first episodes air.
"Accessory", which began shooting in New York City last month, will follow 12 competing contestants as they create fashion accessories including purses, jewelry, and shoes. The identities of the cast members have yet to be revealed.
The last few attempts at "Runway" spin-offs, the most recent being "Models of the Runway", failed to catch on with viewers and were subsequently cancelled. Lifetime is obviously hoping they can use the promotional power of the current "Runway" season (its ninth) to create a buzz for this new incarnation.
