New image from Burton's 'Alice in Wonderland' gives fans some persective
Teaser image unveils character sizes, large and small
As can be deciphered from this latest image from Tim Burton's re-imagining of "Alice in Wonderland," the Red Queen's forehead and hair combined are larger than her torso. By a long shot.
The teaser image was revealed today (Nov. 9) as one in a three-part series. In an effort to promote the 3D film -- due March 5 next year -- on Facebook, Disney has orchestrated its Facebook page around the Mad Hatter's demands: the other two images will be revealed once 7,500 "likes" are procured. A simple request when you're Johnny Depp.
Also in the poster-graphic also features the White Queen (Anne Hathaway) examining some vials, knee-high Tweedledee and Tweedledum and the Cheshire Cat looming large in the sky above. But Helena Bonham Carter is kind of taking the cake, graphically.
If you missed them the first time around, here are portraits of the Queens, the Mad Hatter and a close-up of Alice, played by Mia Wasikowska.
As previously reported, this version of "Alice" satisfies director Burton's imagining of the tale. "I just felt like I'd try it a different way. I've never really seen a movie version that I really liked, or one that I make an emotional connection to," he said earlier this year at Comic-Con in San Diego -- without any irony, too, considering that this movie's parent company had already released one, iconic animated version of the story.
