It looks like detective Nick Burkhardt's fight against supernatural evil will continue.

NBC has announced that they're renewing the Friday drama "Grimm" for a second season.

David Giuntolli plays Burkhardt, a homicide detective who discovers he's the latest in a long line of "Grimms," assigned to protect the human world from the mythological one. The Brothers Grimm-inspired show also stars Russell Hornsby and Bitsie Tulloch.

"Grimm" is one of the few successful survivors of NBC's fall '11 drama class, which also included the cancelled series "The Playboy Club," "The Firm," "Free Agents" and "Prime Suspect."

Going head-to-head with similarly themed sci-fi/fantasy shows "Fringe" and "Supernatural," "Grimm" has maintained a healthy following in the ratings.

Good to hear. I like this show a lot. It's the best sci-fi show NBC has had in a while. It has an original story...something foreign to most NBC shows.

I'm glad to hear it. Been enjoying the show, especially since it's easy to catch online over the weekends.
