Nathan Lane is joining Julianne Moore and Greg Kinnear in the comedy "The English Teacher."

"English," written by Dan and Stacy Chariton will be the feature debut of TV director Craig Zisk ("The Big C," "Weeds").

The film centers on a well-like high school English teacher (Moore) who reunites with a former star student who has been struggling as a NY playwright. She convinces him to stage his un-produced play at her school, which ends up complicating her previously simple life. Lane will play a drama teacher who is dragged into the ramshackle production.

Shooting on the film begins in New York next month, with Naomi Despres, Robert Salerno and Matthew Chausse of Artina producing along with Ben LeClair.

"Nathan is a dream addition to our already dream cast," said Salerno in a release. "This is a classic Nathan role."

Lane was recently seen on Broadway in the hit musical "The Adams Family."  He will soon appear in Tarsem Singh's untitled Snow White film alongside Julia Roberts, Lily Collins and Armie Hammer.
