Modest Mouse announce summer tour, festival dates
Listen to new B-side 'Autumn Beds'
Modest Mouse
Modest Mouse are performing at more than just Bumbershoot, Outside Lands and San Diego Street Scene. The Epic rock act will be hitting mostly Midwest, West Coast and Canadian cities in between its scheduled festival dates.
The tour comes about the same time that the band hopes to release a B-sides EP, some time in August. For now, fans can be tided over with a limited edition 7" single "Autumn Beds"/"Whale Song," due to select record retailers on June 20, going wide June 23. "Autumn Beds" can be heard here.
The track is a little lighter, a little poppier, than the groups traditional paranoid rock sound. Listen for some banjo, a kazoo and, of course, Isaak Brock's beautiful, perfect lisp.
And, no, famed Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr will not be touring with Modest Mouse on this go-round. Instead, Jim Fairchild (Grandaddy, All Smiles) will fill those shoes.
Here are Modest Mouse's scheduled tour dates:
08-17 Halifax, Nova Scotia - Forum Multipurpose Room
08-19
Montreal, Quebec - Metropolis
08-20 Kingston, Ontario - Ale House
08-21 Toronto, Ontario - Sound Academy
