Megan Fox an angel for Mickey Rourke in 'Passion Plays'
'Transformers' star to make her dramatic debut
Megan Fox is going to making the jump from summer blockbuster to indie drama in "Passion Plays."
Megan Fox is ready for her dramatic debut.
A fanboy favorite since her breakout role in "Transformers," Fox has been busy shooting the blockbuster's sequel, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen," and the Diablo Cody horror flick "Jennifer's Body." So far, she hasn't strayed far from her genre niche. Her future projects include Warner Bros.' "Jonah Hex" and Fox Atomic's underwater adventure "Fathom," both based on comic books. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox will star opposite comeback kid Mickey Rourke in the indie "Passion Plays."
Set in 1950s Los Angeles, the picture will find Rourke playing a struggling trumpet player and Fox an angel he saves from a dangerous gangster. Still unclear is whether she is literally or just figuratively an angel.
Mitch Glazer, who wrote "The Recruit" and "Scrooged," will make his directorial debut with the drama.
Considering Fox's commitment to publicizing "Revenge of the Fallen" and "Hex," which is expected to shoot this summer, plus Rourke's current gig as the villain in "Iron Man 2," its unclear when "Passion" will actually begin production.
"Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" opens June 24.
