Listen to Vampire Weekend's new single 'Horchata'
Get ready to play some air marimba
Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend
After the group posted a mysterious countdown clock over the weekend on its website, the time has come for an unveiling: Vampire Weekend has debuted its first single from forthcoming sophomore set "Contra."
Fans can download "Horchata" by coughing up an email address, and can also stream it below.
"Horchata" is quite wordy, but what's more involved is the unusual arrangemetns (unusual at least for Vampire Weekend), with loads of xylophone, vibraphone and mirimba sounds, and very little guitar, if any.
As previously reported, "Contra" is due Jan. 12 via XL.
