Listen: Them Crooked Vultures bare their 'New Fang'
Homme/Grohl/Jones supergroup announces album release details
Them Crooked Vultures
Of all the other previously leaked and pushed material from supergroup Them Crooked Vultures, the newest track "New Fang" has the most commercial and mainstream appeal. Listen below.
It was released to the masses today, coming near the announcement of the hard rock band's self-titled album, due Nov. 17. Tracklist below.
The track "New Fang," which frequently and confusingly sounds like "new thang" in the way Josh Homme sings it, has the perfect pace for modern rock radio. Dave Grohl is relentless behind the kit and John Paul Jones' basslines are just dripping with prog on a nasty groove.
I'm particularly in love with the lyric "Sometimes you break a finger on the upper hand / I think you got me confused with a better man," just as much as Homme surely is.
The band has announced its first West Coast concerts ever, with stops in L.A., Oakland, Seattle and Portland, Ore., with tickets going up this weekend. Tour dates below.
