'Lipstick Jungle' co-star lands on 'Gossip Girl' spinoff
Andrew McCarthy is the latest member of the "Lipstick Jungle" cast to land a new pilot gig.
Lily will, of course, grow up to become Kelly Rutherford's Lily Van Der Woodsen of "Gossip Girl" fame. The spinoff will follow Lily's adventures in Los Angeles in the '80s.
It's terrain that will be familiar for McCarthy, whose 1980s movies credits include "St. Elmo's Fire," "Pretty in Pink" and "Less than Zero."
McCarthy was most recently seen on NBC's "Lipstick Jungle." The low-watched primetime soap is considered doubtful for renewal and McCarthy joins stars Lindsay Price and Kim Raver in scooping up alternative pilot work this spring.
Matheson, always and forever Otter from "Animal House," was most recently seen on the small screen in USA's burnoff of the "To Love and Die" pilot.
