LCD Soundsystem announces forthcoming album, single
James Murphy has been doing more than DJing in the last two years
James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem
Things have been pretty quiet on the new music front from James Murphy, the man behind LCD Soundsystem, since the release of his 2007 masterwork "Sound of Silver." However, he is "finally getting control of this inane facebook page which we didn't even know about" and has taken to the social networking site to announce some details about his coming year.
The songwriter said that a new album is due in March, with a tour to come right after.
"will totally tour next year also. as many places as we can. places we've been to a bunch (hello, dearest glasgow!) and hopefully places we've never been (mexico? serbia? china?) with what i think will be the best version of the band yet," he writes in a post "there will most likely be a single before the new year, and the new 45:33 remixes are coming out right now."
Those remixes refer to his workout mix album for Nike, which lasts for just that amount of time.
Without telling us the title, he references a forthcoming single and how the album and the track will be on vinyl.
"the art is photos by ruvan Wijesooriya and graphics by dfa superdesigner mike vadino of bureau. the mastering for the vinyl (and digi) is by my engineer hero, original mentor, and best vinyl cutter ever, bob weston of shellac at chicago mastering. i'm honestly really excited."
So are we.
