Katy Perry, Jordin Sparks coming to 'American Idol'
Adam Lambert, Kris Allen and Danny Gokey will perform twice apiece next Tuesday

"American Idol" has set its slate for the Top Three next week, including the return of yet another "Idol" winner.
FOX announced on Wednesday (May 6) that next Tuesday's Top Three performance show will see Kris Allen, Danny Gokey and Adam Lambert each perform two songs, a judges' choice and a Finalist's choice. With only six performances, viewers can look forward to extended footage from Kris, Danny and Adam's trips home, including their inevitable visits to the local FOX affiliates in their native towns.
Veteran "American Idol" viewers will remember that the Top Three have traditionally performed three times apiece, just as they'd traditionally performed twice in both the Top Five and Top Four (compared to only once apiece this season). With "Idol" producers struggling to keep the show on schedule with even fewer songs (but more judges), every recent week has seen more chatter and less music.
Conversely, the jam-packed Wednesday night shows have been loaded with performances.
This Wednesday, which saw the elimination of Allison Iraheta, the season's final female contestant, included performances from Chris Daughtry, No Doubt and long-time "Idol" judge Paula Abdul.
Next week will mark the latest return of Season Six winner Jordin Sparks, who will perform her new single, "Battlefield."
Also ready to sing on that May 13 episode is Katy Perry, doing her single "One Of The Boys." While this will be Perry's first "Idol" appearance, her hit single "Hot N Cold" was covered as an "Idol" Group Sing earlier this season.
