Universal Studios has snagged the comedy pitch "The Best Thing About Pam Rooney" as a potential starring project for Jonah Hill.

According to Variety, "The Best Thing About Pam Rooney" comes from writers Andrew Jay Cohen and Brendan O'Brien, who served as co-producers on "Funny People," a Universal comedy that co-starred Hill.

Hill would also produce "The Best Thing About Pam Rooney," which is just described in the trade as "a high-concept romantic comedy," which doesn't really mean all that much.

This project is Hill's latest move up the power charts. He has a starring role in the recently wrapped "Get Him to the Greek," also set up at Universal. He'll wear multiple hats as writer-producer-star of "The Adventurer's Handbook," also set up at Universal.

As for the writers, they've been part of the Judd Apatow comedy circle for some time. Cohen was an associate producer on "The 40-Year-Old Virgin," while O'Brien worked as an assistant for "Virgin" producer Shauna Robertson.
