Jennifer Lopez will produce FOX's English-language remake of Argentina's teen telenovela "Rebelde Way" ("The Rebels").
Duane Adler ("Save the Last Dance," "Step Up") will adapt the series for Lopez and Simon Fields' Nuyorican Prods.
According to Variety, "Rebels" focuses on a pop group made up of teens from an elite private school. In Argentina, the format led to a feature film and an actual band that recorded CDs and toured the country.
Buenos Aires-based producers Cris Morena Group and RGB Entertainment have sold the format in its original form to 40 countries and sold remake rights to a slew of other countries.
Small screen production credits for Lopez have included "South Beach" and "Dance Life." Lopez would also serve as producer on a possible small screen adaptation of her feature "Maid in Manhattan," currently in the script stage at ABC. Lopez is also expected to return to acting with the romantic comedy "Plan B," set for production later this year.

I also watched the mexican remake but didn't like it I hope that if they do get to make it they don't mess it up like some countries did because the story is a beautiful one and it deserves to be protrayed the right way.
REYNOLDSCLASSOF013 I liked the mexican version better they acted the script way better though I am from argentina I liked theirs alot better,Rebelde way was poorly acting and the characters didn't fit in the story they were using,As for Rebelde there actors actually were like the script portrayed them as,I am one of the few people from argentina to admit this,REBEDLE was WAY better you guys I hope they can do like in rebelde and hire real actors and not fakes so the show would be a great one.
