Jennifer Beals believes in FOX's 'Lie to Me'

'The L Word' star will join Tim Roth for multiple 'Lie to Me' episodes starting in late April

Jennifer Beals is set for a multi-episode arc on FOX's "Lie to Me."

FOX announced Tuesday (March 24) that the "L Word" star will play the ex-wife to Tim Roth's Cal Lightman, which also (go figure) makes her the mother to Lightman's daughter Emily (Hayley McFarland).

Beals' character, Zoe Landau, is an Assistant U.S. Attorney. When she highers the Lightman Group to assist with an arson case, sparks fly. Get it? Arson? Sparks? Sigh. Seriously, though, it seems that there are still embers burning between Zoe and Cal. Get it? Arson? Embers? Will they be able to get the home fires burning again? Are they still a good match for each other? Will their passions be smoldering?

Nevermind.

In any case, Beals' arc on "Lie to Me" begins on Wednesday, April 29.

Most recently seen on "The L Word," Beals' credits include "Flashdance," "The Grudge 2" and turns opposite Denzel Washington in "Devil in a Blue Dress" and the upcoming "The Book of Eli."
