Is Mastodon scoring the 'Jonah Hex' film?
As if the comic book movie wasn't going to be heavy enough
Mastodon
Bounty hunters have a heavy job, so it only makes they have a soundtrack of equal weight. So it'd seem fitting that "Jonah Hex," the film adaptation of the comic book, may have the backing of Mastodon for its score.
Ain't It Cool is reporting that the modern metal masters have been tapped to create an original soundtrack to the film, which stars Josh Brolin, John Malkovich and Megan Fox. Check out what the actors have to say about the film here.
Not much is known beyond that, as the dark Wester is still due way out in June next year.
The group's last release was "Crack the Skye," which hit shelves in March. The band obviously loves mixing visuals with audio: They're touring with Adult Swim cartoon bands Metalocalypse and Dethklok this fall, contributed a track to "Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters" and shared tunes to a trio of video games: "Madden NFL 2010," "Saints Row 2" and "Guitar Hero: Metallica."
