Former Frou Frou vocalist and solo artist Imogen Heap let the world inspire her as she wrote her forthcoming solo set "Ellipse." Due Aug. 4, the RCA album was written starting in Hawaii. Then Fiji. Then Tasmania, Japan, China and Thailand.
The smooth-voiced singer ultimately arrived in her hometown of Essex, England to build a studio in the playroom of her old house.
Heap continues to receive input from her international fanbase as she preps the release of "Ellipse." Her 330,000+ Twitter followers submitted Tweets to help inspire her album. She also has been updating fans on a constant basis with more than three dozen video blogs posted to her website.
The Grammy nominted songwriter has released two solo efforts previously; her last, 2005's "Speak for Yourself" made its way onto The Billboard 200 and was No. 1 on the Top Heatseekers chart. Her collaboration in Frou Frou with Sigsworth popularly yielded the track "Let Go," best known as the trailer music for 2004's "Garden State."
