All of the stars of this summer's monster hit "The Hangover" have been reaping the rewards of that flicks $266 million plus gross.  In particular, Ed Helms and Bradley Cooper have signed onto a number of high profile project, but the third member of their trio, Zach Galifianakis, has been a tad quieter.  Now, Variety reports the stand up comedian is in talks to join the new comedy "Dinner for Schmucks" with Steve Carell and Paul Rudd.

Directed by Jay Roach ("Meet the Parents") "Schmucks" is a remake of a 1998 French film "Le dîner de cons" that centers on one man's weekly gathering that goes horribly wrong when he has his worst dinner guest ever. If he comes on board, Galifianakis will play an assistant manager of a mattress store who is dating Carell's ex-wife.

Galifianakis recently re-teamed with "Hangover" director Todd Phillips for the comedy "Due Date" and will appear in the new HBO series "Bored to Death" this fall.

A co-production of the new Disney-based DreamWorks, Spyglass Entertainment and Paramount Pictures, "Schmucks" is scheduled to go into production this Fall for a summer 2010 release.
