For a legion of sci fi fans, the Ewoks are a horrible violation of cuteness foisted upon the "Star Wars" universe by George Lucas and his love of merchandising.

But for a whole legion of online video watchers, the Ewoks may have a new identity as an awesome violation of drunkenness foisted upon NBC's "The Today Show" on Friday (Oct. 30) morning.

In the segment timed to celebrate Halloween with party, costume and decorating ideas, the "Today Show" gang is dressed up as "Star Wars" characters, with Matt Lauer as an appropriately affectless Luke Skywalker and Al Roker as Han Solo.

There are also two Ewoks.

While the Ewoks were just background characters at the beginning of the segment, they begin to take over. What follows is a hilarious three minutes of drinking, fighting and dancing and perhaps the best-ever argument for seeking out an old bootleg of "Ewoks: The Battle for Endor."
