Just days after announcing Dominic Monaghan's casting to a roaring Comic-Con audience, "FlashForward" has added Gabrielle Union to its ensemble.

Union will have a recurring role on "FlashForward," playing criminal defense attorney Zoey. ABC's press release announcing the casting says that Zoey will have a romantic arc on the series, which premieres on Thursday, Sept. 24.

"We’re thrilled that Gabrielle is joining our cast," said executive producer David S. Goyer. "When we met with her, we immediately knew she was our Zoey. She's witty, soulful and beautiful. I've been wanting to work with her for a long time."

"FlashForward," very loosely based on the Robert Sawyer novel, focuses on the aftermath of a global event where every person sees a glimpse of their lives six months in the future.

Union, who appeared in the CW pilot "Body Politic" this past development season, was most recently seen on the small screen in an arc on NBC's "Life." Her other TV credits include "Ugly Betty," "Night Stalker" and "Friends," while she's been seen on the big screen in "Bring It On," "Deliver Us From Eva" and "Meet Dave."
