'Frost/Nixon' scribe will co-write James Bond 23
Peter Morgan wrote about "The Queen" and now he's ready to write about the spy who works "On Her Majesty's Secret Service."
Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli announced on Friday (June 12) that Morgan will join forces with regular franchise scribes Neal Purvis and Robert Wade on the script for the upcoming 23rd James Bond adventure.
No title, plot or production dates have been announced for the MGM production, but it will mark Daniel Craig's third feature as 007.
"Peter, Neal and Robert are extraordinarily talented and we’re looking forward to working with the three of them," Wilson and Broccoli say in a statement.
Purvis and Wade worked with Oscar winner Paul Haggis on "Casino Royale" and last fall's "Quantum of Solace
In addition to "The Queen" and the Oscar nominated "Frost/Nixon," which was based on his own play, Morgan's credits include "The Last King of Scotland," the upcoming feature "Hereafter" and the HBO film "The Special Relationship," which he's also expected to direct.
