Forget FOX, Conan O'Brien may take his show on the road
Former 'Tonight Show' host can't hit the tube yet, but want to reward his fans
Conan O'Brien may take his show on the road as a reward to his fans.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Conan O'Brien may be taking his act on the road and even overseas. O'Brien's exit deal with NBC barred the former "Tonight" host from TV appearances for several months. He is weighing a tour that would take him directly to his fans, according to a person familiar with the proposal. The person, who was not authorized to publicly discuss the plans, spoke on condition of anonymity. Details are unsettled, the person said, but O'Brien may perform live in U.S. venues, including college campuses, and head to Europe. An O'Brien spokesman declined comment. The tour could be a prelude to a new talk show for the comedian, who left "Tonight" in January when NBC tried to bump him to a midnight slot. Possibilities include Fox, which expressed interest. Jay Leno reclaims "Tonight" next month. Copyright (C) 2010 The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.

February 20, 2010 at 8:13AM EST Reply to CommentConan should take his show to the junkyard. If he was as popular as his fans tried to portray in his final month on NBC, he would still be on the air. But the problem was and always has been that Conan simply isn't funny. His juvenile antics & humor doesn't appeal to mature adult audiences and anyone that argues differently is fooling themself.
stephan Klose I am not even sure how to comment on that. If you compare Conan to Leno or even Letterman you can't honestly think he is less funny than either of them?
February 20, 2010 at 9:38AM ESTBenji Comedy, just like anything that can be categorized as an "art form" is simply a matter of taste. What may be a laugh out loud moment for one person, could be completely repulsive to the next. Conan definitely has a niche in the younger, college age demographics. However, he is a class act for all his foolishness he exudes. An for you to say, Mr. Leno is a better comedian/show....well, in my opinion, I say, YOU would be fooling, yourself.

February 20, 2010 at 9:36AM EST Reply to CommentWell I applaud that plan. I live in Austria and would pay a sh*tload of money to see Conan Live. I doubt however that he would come to Austria.. He'd probably perform in the UK, France and such

February 20, 2010 at 9:49AM EST Reply to CommentOh my God. I'm Conan's biggest fan (from Israel, atleast) and I might be going to Spain next month. If he's going to perform there it would be legendary, I'll have to kill myself afterwards because nothing in my life would be able to top that. I'm freaking out right now!!!
