The indie scene continues to gain steam this summer and now the international titles are starting to bring some heat.

Opening in New York and Los Angeles on Friday is the French thriller "The Girl From Monaco." The picture has been making the rounds on the festival circuit, but the seductive tale is finally getting a wider release.

Magnolia Pictures' official synopsis says:

"A brilliant and neurotic attorney (Fabrice Luchini) goes to Monaco to defend a famous criminal. But, instead of focusing on the case, he falls for a beautiful she-devil (Louise Bourgoin), who turns him into a complete wreck. Hopefully, his zealous bodyguard (Roschdy Zem) will step in and put everything back in order... Or will he?

Ah, the drama.
