Download: Avett Brothers' 'I And Love And You'
No, not those other Brothers...
Avett Brothers
The Avett Brothers have released the title track to their upcoming full-length for the world to hear.
"I And Love And You" was apparently based off of a live show experience the Carolinian troupe had in Brooklyn -- holler! -- and it makes us feel all sappy inside. To listen to the track, scroll below the tour dates.
It's the first we've heard of the album, which has been long-coming since the group announced last year that it was signing to Rick Rubin's Columbia imprint American. Rubin is producing the set himself and from the sound of it, he's not overreaching the band's organic, perfect-in-its-imperfections sound.
The group is currently on tour -- a chronic condition for them -- in cities large and small until October. "I And Love And You" will be released Aug. 11, but fans at the Aug. 8 show in the Avetts' homestate will have a chance to purchase early.
The core of The Avett Brothers consists of two actual Brothers Avett, Scott and Seth, plus bassist Bob Crawford, though they've been known to tour as a quintet. They've toured with some pretty small acts, I dunno, you may have heard of them, Dave Matthews Band, Wilco, Widespread Panic, My Morning Jacket...
We think this country-punk-rock troupe is poised for huge things, and that goes beyond just their wiley show.
