Tweens rejoice: Disney Channel has ordered a third season of "The Suite Life on Deck."
And if you're not in the show's target demo, please resume your ordinary machinations.
The Disney Channel announced on Monday (Oct. 19) that the third season of "The Suite Life on Deck" will begin production in early 2010.
For those who don't know, "The Suite Life on Deck" is the nautical evolution (sequel? spinoff?) of the Disney Channel's "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" and stars Dylan and Cole Sprouse, plus Brenda Song, Debby Ryan, Doc Shaw and Phill Lewis.
The series focuses on twins Zack and Cody Martin, plus hotel heiress London Tipton, as they spend history's longest-ever semester at sea.
If you don't have children or you aren't a child yourself, there's a very real possibility you've never been exposed to "The Suite Life on Deck."
However, "The Suite Life on Deck" ranks as TV's top series among kids 6-11 and the No. 2 scripted series among tweens 9-14. For its second season, "The Suite Life on Deck" is averaging 5.1 million viewers overall (compare that to anything on The CW, or to something like "Dollhouse"), while the show's October 2 episode drew 6.8 million total viewers, a series high.
