Diaz returns to the rom com with 'Swingles'
She'll play a wing-woman to a single guy
Cameron Diaz will go from "The Box" to "Swingles."
Cameron Diaz knows her sweet spot is the romantic comedy. The 36-year-old had a surprise hit in last summer's "What Happens in Vegas" and now, Variety reports she's in final negotiations to star in "Swingles" for Paramount Pictures.
The flick centers on a single guy who, after loosing his steady wingman, teams up with a sharp-tongued woman he can't stand in order to meet other single women. The bachelor role has not been cast.
A director has not been determined yet, but Duncan Birmingham's first produced screenplay is ready to go.
Diaz is probably making a safe career move by taking on the rom com. Her next two pictures include the questionable melodrama "My Sister's Keeper" and she'll star alongside James Marsden in the Richard Killer thriller "The Box" this fall. Of course, her ultimate safety card is "Shrek Goes Fourth" which hits theaters in May 2010.
