David Cook is looking to show this year's contestants how its done.
"American Idol" season seven champ David Cook is returning to the show that made him a star.
Cook, who battled David "Archie" Archuleta to win last season's crown, will perform a new single from his self-titled debut album, "Come Back To Me" on the Wednesday, April 1 edition of "Idol." Cook's November release has already been certified platinum and entered the Billboard Top 200 at No. 3, the best debut from an "Idol" winner since 2006. Cook's first headlining tour, "The Declaration Tour 2009," began on February 13 and, according to a Fox press release, is still "going strong with sold-out dates."
Pop sensation Lady GaGa will also perform Wednesday night. The singer/songwriter had an amazing run to the top of the single charts with "Just Dance" and will perform "Poker Face," her second hit song from her debut album "The Flame."
A number of former "Idol" winners have already returned to the show's stage this year including Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard and Carrie Underwood.
The show will also feature the elimination of one of nine current finalists: Kris Allen, Anoop Desai, Matt Giraud, Danny Gokey, Allison Iraheta, Megan Joy, Adam Lambert, Scott MacIntyre and Lil Rounds. The fun begins at 9:00 PM ET/PT on Fox.
