Clive Owen will tackle the Colombian drug trade in the drama "Cartagena."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the "Shoot 'Em Up" star is attached to the film from writer Michael Ross ("Turistas") and Mark Cuban's 2929 Productions.

Owen would play an undercover agent working amidst the drug cartels in Colombia. Naturally he becomes involved in a plot that requires him to outrun both the dealers and other rogue agents.

The trade paper notes that both Warner Bros. and Sony acquired competing projects based on the rescue of 15 hostages from FARC rebels, making Colombia a cinematic hotspot.

Owen will next be seen in "The International" from Tom Tykwer. The "Closer" Oscar nominee also has a starring role in Scott Hicks' "The Boys Are Back."
