Chris Tomlin, TobyMac lead Dove Awards nominations
Christian music event to air April 24

ATLANTA (AP) — Chris Tomlin and TobyMac each got six nominations for the Dove Awards, the gospel and Christian music show that will be held in Atlanta for the first time.
Jason Crabb drew the second-most with five nominations and Francesca Battistelli received four for the 42nd annual show, which was previously only held in Nashville, Tenn.
It will air on April 24 on the Gospel Music Channel.
Tomlin, who is up for best male vocalist, will also compete for artist of the year against TobyMac, Tomlin, Crabb, Marvin Sapp, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound and Natalie Grant.
Battistelli was nominated again for best female vocalist after winning last year.
