Chris Brown schedules first U.S. concert since February's assault
Pop concerts apparently part of the six-month community service sentence
Chris Brown has slated his first concert in the U.S. since assaulting his former girlfriend Rihanna on Grammy night in February.
He'll appear alongside Fabolous, Keri Hilson, The-Dream, Trey Songz, Mario, Day26 and Ginuwine at New York radio station Power 105's Powerhouse concert event on Oct. 27.
Consider this the start of the promo train for "Graffiti," the Pop/R&B singer's forthcoming album. Brown has a new single "Transformer" featuring Lil Wayne and Swizz Beatz in the works for release soon, according to MTV, and has been cramming loads of time in the studio with producer Beatz.
This concert appearance occurs smack dab in the middle of Brown's six months community labor service, which is what the singer was sentenced to instead of jail time. He's been clearing brush and picking up trash in his homestate of Virginia. There is no word as to how the show will interfere with serving that sentence.
Tickets for Powerhouse go up tomorrow, Sept. 25, for pre-sale and the next day for general onsale.
