CBS has ordered a comedy pilot created by and starring Adam Carolla.

According to TV Week, CBS has greenlit the comedy "Ace in the Hole," featuring Carolla as a husband and father who works as a driving instructor.

CBS made sure Carolla will have some free time earlier last week when the company's radio arm ended his nationally syndicated talk show.

"Ace in the Hole" comes from Jimmy Kimmel's Jackhole shingle, Lloyd Braun and Gail Berman's BermanBraun banner and CBS Paramount Network Television.

Carolla wrote "Ace in the Hole" with Kevin Hench. The two also worked together on the fairly well-regarded 2007 film "The Hammer."

Other credits for Carolla include "The Man Show" (with Kimmel), "Crank Yankers" and a run on "Dancing with the Stars."
