CBS floats 'Moonlight' star down 'Three Rivers'
Alex O'Loughlin could play a doc in CBS' organ transplant drama
Alex O'Loughlin
CBS is keeping Alex O'Loughlin in the family.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS is set to cast the "Moonlight" star in a lead role in the medical drama pilot "Three Rivers," from CBS Paramount TV.
The pilot focuses on the organ transplant process from three points of view: The donors, the recipients and the doctors involved.
The trade paper says O'Loughlin is in negotiations to play Dr. Andy Yablonski, the workaholic head of the organ donor transplant team.
O'Loughlin's deal would stem from a talent pact with the network, a deal struck after the cancellation of "Moonlight," which featured the Aussie star as vampire private investigator Mick St. John.
He'll next be seen in a dark turn on the network's "Criminal Minds," appearing on the April 29 episode.
Other credits for O'Loughlin include "The Shield" and the upcoming (and long delayed) film "Whiteout."
